I photograph architecture in the best light—literally. Daylight photography is carefully timed to when the sun casts shadows that define the building's three-dimensional form. In the UK, the ideal period for daylight shoots is between April 15th and October 30th, when the sun is higher in the sky, avoiding harsh shadows from nearby structures.
Dawn and dusk photography, available year-round, is perfect for showcasing lighting design and atmospheric moods.
My Creative Approach
Traditionally, architectural photography avoided people, cars, and motion. I take a more contemporary approach, strategically incorporating people or vehicles to demonstrate scale and human interaction with the space. Our imagery highlights:

I use advanced techniques like multi-image stitching and realistic HDR to manage high-contrast lighting and produce stunning, natural-looking results.
High-End Equipment for High-Quality Results
I use professional mirrorless and digital medium format cameras (45+ megapixels), paired with specialist tilt-shift lenses to maintain architectural geometry and perspective. Wide-angle lenses are occasionally used to enhance dramatic architectural elements.
All post-production is completed on Eizo colour-calibrated monitors, ensuring colour accuracy and consistency across digital and print media.

Planning Your Architectural Photoshoot
To ensure a successful shoot, I ask for a clear brief, including:
- Final image usage (website, social media, magazines, brochures, etc.)
- Project location and preferred shoot date (ensure site is ready: no scaffolding, debris, etc.)
- Elements to focus on (key features or spaces)
- Any previous imagery for stylistic reference
I am happy to coordinate directly with your designer, marketing team, or branding agency to align visuals with your goals. Based on your brief, I will send you a custom quote with costs and timelines.
Pre-Shoot Preparations
Here’s how to get ready for your architectural photoshoot:
- Assign a contact person to provide access
- If possible, arrange rooftop or adjacent building access for unique angles
- Share floor plans, marked areas of interest, and 3D views to help me plan the shoot
- Notify local residents and obtain permissions as needed
I also use sun tracking software and satellite imagery to plan the best time for your shoot, then I wait for a sunny day!
On the Day of the Shoot
I aim to minimise disruption while capturing dynamic, high-quality imagery. I often use the daily activities happening on-site to naturally demonstrate how the space is used and flows.
After the Shoot: Delivery & Archiving
After the shoot, I provide a digital contact sheet of unedited images. Once you've made your selection, I professionally edit and deliver high-resolution images via a download link.
All images are backed up on remote and local servers and can be retrieved in the future if needed.
An invoice is issued once final deliverables are complete.
