Project
Overview

Mantle Spaces commissioned me to photograph their serviced office location, The Lambourn in Abingdon, to support a refreshed marketing campaign. As one of their newly launched sites in Oxfordshire, the client wanted photography that captured the calm, professional atmosphere of the interior spaces and gave potential tenants a clear sense of what to expect—light, modern, flexible workspaces with personality. My brief was to create a consistent, high-quality image set covering key communal and private office spaces, as well as external views and informal work areas.

The photographs were taken across two separate visits to capture both staffed and unstaffed versions of the building, with careful attention paid to the use of natural light, composition, and branding continuity across Mantle’s wider portfolio.

Creative Approach
and Delivery

Working in close coordination with Mantle’s marketing team, I focused on communicating the atmosphere of the space through clean compositions, careful exposure balancing between indoor and outdoor light, and subtle staging where necessary. Key architectural elements such as the central staircase, external colonnade, and bright communal breakout zones were framed to highlight openness and functionality.

This project took place over two visits to The Lambourn, at different times of year to provide seasonal flexibility and variety in the visual assets. My deliverables included:

  • Exterior photographs of the building and landscaped approach
  • Interior images of reception area, shared lounges, meeting areas, private workspaces, and collaboration zones
  • Lifestyle-style shots showing people interacting naturally in the space

The brief emphasised natural light, modern design features, and the day-to-day usability of the workspace. I used a combination of ambient lighting and subtle retouching to ensure the imagery felt authentic and clean, avoiding the over-stylised or impersonal feel sometimes associated with commercial office photography.

How Images
Were Used

The photography from this shoot has been used widely across Mantle’s marketing, both in print and online, including:

  • Location Webpage Carousel: A selection of images features prominently on Mantle’s dedicated webpage for the Abingdon location, helping users get an instant visual feel for the building.
  • Mailable Marketing Leaflet: The photos were also used in a creative, square-format five-page folding brochure sent to prospective clients. My images support the storytelling across the internal pages, showing both the workspace and communal areas in use.
  • Published Advertorial – Business Voice: One of the images was featured in a full-page article titled "How a private office can benefit you" in the September 2023 issue of Business Voice, the magazine published by the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce. The article outlines the benefits of Mantle’s flexible office offerings and uses my photography to visually reinforce the quality and atmosphere of the space.
  • Mantle’s "Insights" blog articles, where my images continue to feature prominently:

This consistent use of imagery across touchpoints has helped reinforce The Lambourn’s identity as a professional and inviting place to work.

Outcome

The final image set helped Mantle communicate their offering clearly, confidently, and consistently across both print and digital platforms. The strong, recognisable visuals helped build trust with prospective tenants and added polish to an integrated marketing campaign. It was a pleasure to support this project and continue working with Mantle to showcase their expanding portfolio of workspace environments.

FAQ

Effective photography for serviced offices goes beyond documenting desks and décor — it communicates atmosphere, usability, and the experience a tenant might expect. Good photography should:

  • Highlight natural light, spatial layout, and cleanliness.
  • Show people using the space authentically (when appropriate).
  • Capture key amenities like breakout areas, meeting rooms, and kitchens.
  • Balance wide-angle shots with tighter, character-rich details.
  • Be visually consistent across multiple locations to support brand identity.

For potential tenants or clients viewing your website, brochure, or social channels, high-quality images create an immediate impression of professionalism and care — and can strongly influence enquiries.

Great images aren’t just for your website, they’re powerful, multi-purpose marketing assets. Here’s how they’re typically used:

  • Web & SEO: Featured on location pages and landing pages to boost engagement and improve ranking.
  • Email & Social: Used in campaigns or LinkedIn posts to increase click-through and sharing.
  • Brochures & Leaflets: Professionally printed material benefits hugely from well-composed images that show off facilities.
  • Blog Posts & Articles: Photography brings case studies, news and thought leadership pieces to life.
  • Press & PR: Editorial-quality images increase the likelihood of media coverage.

Investing in versatile, high-resolution images ensures your marketing is ready for every opportunity — online or offline.
